Integrated delivery systems abbreviated as IDS is the term that is used by the health care departments referring to joint efforts by the physicians and the hospitals for various purposes. For example, the IDS can be used to access the market on a broad basis, optimize the costs incurred in the hospitals and also manage the financial arrangements so as to be just to the clients in the hospitals (Luo, 2014). The above are the uses of integrated delivery systems that ensure that the services given in a hospital are effective.
In the United States, IDS can be used to improve the health care using the delivery systems. The health policy believes that the IDS will improve the quality of the services offered in hospitals (El Asmar, 2013). A good example that explains why the IDS is said to provide and give the best services is the advertisement by the northwestern memorial hospital that gives the benefits IDS in their hospitals regarding quality.
Another importance of IDS is an ability to control the competitive prices with consistent changes in the level of quality. The services given by the IDS may be termed as expensive, but they ensure that the quality is good (Díez, 2014). Through the IDS the cost of the health services is controlled. By this, the economic growth of the U.S will have a positive change and also will ensure that the services given in hospitals are the best. When the services being offered are improved regarding quality, deaths, and cases of living with long-term diseases will decrease hence making the citizens of the country to be productive thus boosting the economic growth of the country. Also through controlling the prices incurred in hospitals, the patients will be charged fairly, and there will be no cases of having large bills in hospitals or unable to seek medical care because the cost charged are high.
