This message is about my request to hire an additional member of staff to work in the medical records department. This is because, normally, the department is one essential division of the organization where the facility's data is stored and acquired. After the recent activities, the workload is increasing drastically, and it would be pertinent to hire an additional muscle to aid ease the pressure. With the other staff member, the organization would be able to expand hours of operation and ensure an efficient process of data collection, storage, and retrieval.
The turnover for the position will be high, but I will use my methods to evaluate them and narrow them to the most potential individual fit for the job. The first stage of the evaluation will be to identify eligible candidates for the position (Bigos & Burton, 2018). In this stage, I will review all letters of application followed by the fundamental tracking of the candidate and management of their resumes. The latter will utilize technology to save on time and energy whereas still maintaining the primary goal of adopting an efficient hiring system that will identify the best candidate for the job.
The second stage will involve the pre-screening of the candidates. In this stage, I will conduct a more in-depth review of the applicants' resumes, perform telephone interviews, and appropriately use social media to examine the candidate. In the next stage, I will conduct a preliminary examination of all the potential applicants, where I will perform in-person interviews, structured panel interviews, and video interviews (Bigos & Burton, 2018). Lastly, in my in-depth assessment, I will conduct a detailed pre-employment test on the individual eligible candidate by carrying out pre-employment testing to verify the candidate by running criminal background checks, covering their credit transactions and coverage, legitimation of their education credentials, their prior work performance and legal issues.
