Healthcare providers use diverse approaches for delivering their services to patients. These clinical systems have transformed over the years due to the need for flexible payments, accessibility, and quality of care. Facilities integrate unique strategies or a hybrid to achieve the best results in their field. Although many systems exist, the ongoing transformation and integration of telemedicine emerge as the most impactful healthcare delivery system in contemporary times due to its impact on access to care.
One can only term telemedicine as a revolutionary approach in the healthcare sector. It has completely changed how physicians, nurses, and other professionals deliver their services to patients. Calton et al. (2020) indicate that healthcare providers demonstrated the prominence of telemedicine during the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to broad global integration by health facilities. It played a fundamental role in maintaining access to health care, improving remote monitoring of patients in their homes, and saving on resources.
