Introduction
Technology supports health practitioners and improves patient outcomes by enhancing efficiency, improving the workflow, and reducing medical errors. All of these boost healthcare delivery and help combat global health problems. Through the help of nurses, technology can address global health challenges through initiatives and alleviate the quality of care in less developed countries.
Addressing Global Health Challenges
Currently, the COVID-19 pandemic posed threats to the health of all people worldwide. Initially, the main challenge was tracking the people exposed to patients with the disease, mainly when the patients are asymptomatic. Together with the fast transmission of the virus, this issue leads to a tremendous and drastic increase in mortality and morbidity. The technology, specifically the big data, internet of things, smart technologies, and artificial intelligence, aids in the contact tracing of the infected people, reducing the exposure of those without the disease (WHO, 2020; Abusaada & Elshater, 2020).

Maternal death secondary to blood loss antepartum, intrapartum, or postpartum is high in developing countries. This is attributed to a poor or lack of blood transfusion technologies. In Sub-Saharan Africa, they utilize kitchen soup ladle for blood transfusion due to the lack of medical equipment. This is an inefficient and aseptic method that may lead to complications like infection and massive blood loss. The invention of Hemafuse, by the Sisu Global Health, can help the mothers to recover from blood loss via autotransfusion by filtering the clots and ensuing reinfusion to the patient (USAID, 2017).
Another pressing problem is the lack of a sustainable electric source that supplies the incubators, increasing the risk of prema...
