Briefly describe a systems implementation scenario (actual or fictitious) that illustrates a failure to adequately consider all options and condition, along with the respective implications. Be sure to discuss issues such as buy vs. make decisions, data based - client/server approach, security considerations...etc.
A system implementation that would ordinarily be implemented in 24 months is implemented in 15 months because of pressure to roll out the system. However, because of high scheduling demands, there are system failures that cannot be adequately handled and the system deign and implementation team result to reducing the time for critical system testing. As such, failure to fully test the scenarios, focus on realistic conditions and ensuring that all the components work seamlessly mean that the system would most likely not meet all the needs (Fruhlinger & Wailgum, 2017), 2017. Furthermore, taking shortcuts also affects training during the system implementation where even the users are likely unfamiliar with the most important aspects of the system.
The failure of the system affects the clients and servers since the organization uses a distributed system and the client/server configuration was not to the required because of the scheduling demand that necessitated rushing through the system. It is challenging to recover from crashes when there is no proper system testing before implementation because the cause of the crash may not be easily recognizable.
