The major goal of facilitating an evidence-based practice project in a healthcare organization is to promote the needed change in the facility. Ideally, in a healthcare setting, evidence-based solutions help improve the quality of care provided to patients, improve patients’ satisfaction, and improve treatment outcomes. Evaluating an evidence-based practice project in a hospital is crucial since it helps in establishing whether the institution has effectively adopted the intended changes in the hospital’s operations. Therefore, it is critical to ensure that the evaluation technique applied has the potential for estimating and quantifying expected changes in the hospital.
In this case, the evidence-based project is focused on implementing a non-pharmacological intervention, use of physical activities that may be used by adults with depression in a rehabilitation center. The use of structured and individualized exercise programs would help depressed individuals to manage their emotions (Dugan et al., 2015). Physical activities may be self-managed, and older adults can easily manage their mental health without depending on antidepressants with negative side effects. When exercise programs are effectively developed and implemented, they can work as well as the antidepressants. In order to determine the effectiveness and suitability of using physical activities as a non-pharmacological intervention for depression in a hospital setting, an effective evaluation plan should be developed to help understand the expected outcomes of the intervention.
