Experiences Nurse informatics focuses on the quality of healthcare delivered to patients. They support the attainment, operation, and evaluation of clinical information systems (CIS) in healthcare organizations (Murphy et al., 2016). I have observed them interact with different health experts in my health facility. The health record is one of the teams they interact with routines since patients’ information requires storage after collection into an Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The EMR is part of the clinical information system handled by nurse informatics. They also interact with clinicians by availing them with refined data to inform the decisions of these professionals. Since continued care of patients during the treatment process is critical, clinicians rely on these specialists for well-structured patients’ information. Training on how to operate the health information systems and the importance is one of the strategies that require implementation in health facilities. Nurse informatics face problems, including delayed physician orders simply because they have a hard time using the systems, resulting in late feedback from nursing desks or informatics. For example, a physician in my health facility ordered diagnostic tests for a particular patient. Since he was not conversant with making one, the patient encountered more waiting time, questioning quality services delivery. Thus, familiarizing the physicians with the systems would improve their precision to assist the nurse informaticists in discerning such information. The inconsistencies in the interaction between nurse informaticists and other healthcare providers, including physicians and the health records team, can be addressed by creating interdisciplinary teams or team meeting designs.
