This assignment builds on the Risk Management Program Analysis – Part One assignment you completed in Topic 1 of this course.
Assume that the sample risk management program you analyzed in Topic 1 was implemented and is now currently in use by your health care employer/organization. Further assume that your supervisor has asked you to create a high‐level summary brief of this new risk management program to share with a group of administrative personnel from a newly created community health organization in your state who has enlisted your organization's assistance in developing their own risk management policies and procedures.
Compose a 1,250‐1,500 word summary brief that expands upon the elements you first addressed in the Topic 1 assignment. In this summary brief, address the following points regarding your health care organization and its risk management program:
Explain the role of your organization's MIPPA-approved accreditation body (e.g., JC, ACR, IAC) in the evaluation of your institution's quality improvement and risk management processes.
Describe the roles that different levels of administrative personnel play in healthcare ethics and establishing or sustaining employer/employee-focused organizational risk management strategies and operational policies.
Illustrate how your organization's risk management and compliance programs support ethical standards, patient consent, and patient rights and responsibilities.
Explain the legal and ethical responsibilities health care professionals face in upholding risk management policies and administering safe health care at your organization.
Relate how your organization's quality improvement processes support and contribute to its overall journey to excellence.

The Role of the Organization’s MIPPA
The joint commission recognizes many hospitals in the United States, and each member must undergo a three-year accreditation cycle. The joint commission approves and certifies approximately 22,000 hospitals in the United States. Mayo Clinic Health System is among the bodies accredited by the joint commission (Mayo Clinic, 2022). Members must meet the required standard for eligibility. The commission stipulates performance standards that impact the safety and quality of patient care. The accreditation process determines whether an organization complies with the standards and other factors. One of the commission’s objectives is to ensure that hospitals can provide quality medical care expected by patients (Wadhwa & Huynh, 2020). The joint commission conducts multiple operations to promote efficiency among the registered hospitals. For instance, all laboratories are surveyed every two years. However, the results are not published. The commission performance is crucial in ensuring member companies have the instruments to promote customer satisfaction.
The joint commission adopts quality improvement and risk management in its member organization. The commission is divided into two associate groups, which provide materials such as books, software, and other educational materials to members. The organization’s survey helps identify gaps that need intervention methods. For instance, if a member of the group’s medical staff is not updated on the current trends, the organization may decide to sponsor educational programs to promote the organization. Also, the commission wishes to maintain the trademark due to its reputation for quality healthcare services. HERS, breast care in mayo clinic, is accredited by the ACR. The accreditation of HERS depicts that it has undergone multiple reviews and meets the accepted standards of breast care.
The Role Played by Different Levels of Administrative Personnel
Hospitals are managed by people working in the organization, and all departments and employees contribute to the organization’s objectives. The human resource department plays a crucial role in ensuring that workers maintain the required discipline to promote robust company culture. One of the major issues highlighted was inadequate personnel which the human resource manager admirably handled. The health care system hires chief information officers to reduce endpoint problems and increase internal stakeholder connections. The procedures solve cyber security issues effectively instead of pursuing additional software protections. The human resource management employees have successfully interconnected all organizational departments and helped in employee engagement to promote quality improvement. Healthcare administration requires strict workforce management to allow medical professionals to provide better services without delays.
