Understanding the essential requirements when conducting a study is necessary for any nursing professional. It allows him to know the different necessities and processes related to this line of research that would make for a better feasibility study. In this article, the author would like to focus on the different requirements that he would need concerning the topic "Reducing pediatric asthma emergency department visits at Akron Children's Hospital by the implementation of a Nurse Practitioner Transition Team (NPTT) to monitor and educate families and pediatric patients on asthma management." This includes the different subject matters that experts must need to gather, the elicitation process, and the functional requirements required. The author believes that it becomes easier to mitigate the risks and the costs of the research by understanding the necessary steps and processes.
Subject Matter Requirements
The initial process in determining the subject matter requirements recognizes the issues and opportunities for gathering data. On the one hand, it could be seen that the topic focuses on reducing pediatric asthma visits at the workplace. Although this is mainly quantitative, a qualitative methodology (i.e., random interviews) can also supplement the intervention results.
