A health center should apply plans that are patient-centered in improving the quality of healthcare services. Electronic health record (EHR) provides accurate and fast information about a patient. A healthcare facility should follow different steps in choosing the right EHR vendor. In the first step, a hospital should identify the right time to select a new EHR vendor. Secondly, the EHR needs and identify the right features to assist in accomplishing the practice goals, Healthcare practice goals should be specific, measurable, attainable, and relevant (Stillwell, Gowin & Klimant 2018). Thirdly, provide a list of certified EHR vendors offering systems with the intended features. Fourth step request and review (RFPs) from different vendors. Step six is attending demonstrations by the EHR vendors to have a proper understanding of the software (Hodgkins 2017).
