According to Middleton et al. (2013), the purpose of implementing or integrating an EHR system is to “enhance patient safety and quality of care.” In this regard, I would like to recommend EpicCare as the certified EHR system the organization should consider for selection. This system is indeed the right choice mainly because it is certified for Meaningful Use Stages 1 and 2. It is also quite simple, and the staff members should have an easy time while learning how to use it.
According to the regulations set by CMS, every software or EHR system that is introduced in the market must exhibit a meaningful use. As per CMS, an EHR system should be able to periodically record patient data, store the data in a structured format, help to improve care, and finally, provide the necessary functionality and security.
