Differences between Nursing Practice and Medical Practice Problems

A nursing practice problem refers to health problems/ issues unearthed by a patient's nursing assessment (LoBiondo-Wood, Haber & Titler, 2018). On the other hand, a medical problem is concerned with the pathological underpinnings of a disease condition. A better understanding of a nursing problem can be understood if we view it as the response of a patient/ client to a disease condition. To exemplify the difference between a nursing practice problem and a medical problem, let us look at an example. If a patient presents themselves to the facility presenting the signs of fatigue, vomiting, and headache, a nurse can carry out a nursing diagnosis and then intervene appropriately.
