Discussing the Supervision Changes Made in Registered Dental Hygienist

Essay Instructions:

Read the instructions below and answer the reflective question. I have attached both of the documkents that you will need.
Instructions:

Our training in all aspects of our scope of practice equals that of California dentists, and in some areas exceeds it. As you know, an RDHAP is licensed to perform many general supervision procedures without supervision, but was required to provide direct supervision procedures in the office of a dentist, while the dentist was present. Please investigate SB653, which Governor Newson signed into law in September, 2020.
Reflective Question - After reading SB653, which changes to the supervision for RDHAPs do you find exciting (if any)? Is there anything about this new law that gives you concern, or makes you nervous? What do you think you need more education on before you might want to perform these procedures without supervision?
Hint: you will need to use your DHBC Handbook Online to reference the "old" regulations, so you can compare to the new.
