Question 1.
Dorothy is a black American woman, mother, mathematician, and mathematics teacher who works in a performance-oriented company. Also, discrimination is at the center stage based on peoples' color. Although individual people and workers feel discrimination deep in them, Dorothy’s performance is a crucial motivator. With increased bigotry and racism in the organization, Dorothy shows her heard working character. She has expertise in her job and very brilliant. The hard work makes her become the first woman to work as NASA’s mathematician. Though discrimination does her work in an isolated room, she still works hard and gives outstanding results. Hard work made Dorothy be promoted to a managerial position. The support accorded to her by the community where she lives has relieved her the effects of discrimination she suffers at the organization (Walker, 2017).
Dorothy is a persevering lady who has endured many handles in her carrier. Giving up is not seen to be part of her life. She has faced hard times in her organization, like being isolated in her room to avoid mixing wither coworkers. She is also denied access to white computers because she is black. Despite being the first black person to work at the NASA research center, she is powerful and proves that black people can work better than white. Discrimination didn’t make her give up or deviate from her carrier objectives and goals. She strives to be an outstanding performer in the entire organization. It also appears that she persevered in her education since culture did not promote the education of ladies.
Dorothy has also proved to be hard devoted in her undertakings. She concentrated much on her carrier, which enabled her to outperform coworkers. Also, her devotion made her lead as a manager at NASA, achieving many results. She worked long and lonely hours, well knowing how critical her work proved to be in the United States space.
