Food Infection and Food Intoxication
Food infections occur when individuals consume food contaminated by infectious organisms such as bacteria, viruses, parasites, and toxins. Food contamination can happen during poroduction of food. The microorganisms in food contamination grow the hosts' intestinal tract, leading to infections (UNL, 2019). Food intoxication is caused by consuming food containing toxins created by bacteria that result in bacteria. In food intoxication, folks do not need to consume live bacteria.
