Myasthenia Gravis (MG) is a chronic neurological disorder‚ whose trigger is unknown. It is also an acquired autoimmune disease that is not hereditary. However‚ some genetic abnormalities have been associated with it. With this condition‚ the transmissions of nerve impulses are impaired by the autoantibody attack (Moore & Shepard, 2014). Guillain-barre syndrome (GBS) is an autonomic disorder whereby‚ part of the nervous system is erroneously attacked by the body’s immune system. It follows viral infections such as herpes simplex‚ mononucleosis or AIDS. The condition can also follow after a severe illness or surgery (Moore & Shepard, 2014).
Impaired Spontaneous Ventilation
Impaired spontaneous ventilation refers to a condition whereby‚ a patient generally has greatly reduced energy (Herdman, 2011). This results in difficulty in breathing in order to sustain one’s life.
