Difference between Spatial and Attribute Data in GIS
Spatial and attribute data are representative of two different types of data upon which the geographical information of a particular point or location is collected, stored, analyzed, and managed. Spatial data pinpoints the geographical location of a point or a particular feature on earth. Attribute data, on the other hand, provides a description of the location identified through spatial data as its characteristic of the features within the said geographical location.
Definition of Raster and Vector Data
Raster and vector data are the two main ways of creating, storing, and sharing geospatial data. Raster data is characterized by the use of grid cells formed by row rows and columns. Each of the cells formed to represent an image of the geographical location and includes photographs and satellite images. Vector data consists of points and lines to represent or pinpoint exact locations such as boundaries.
