The performance of organizations, including healthcare organizations, is deeply influenced by employees. Healthcare organizations understand that their employees impact the quality of healthcare, patient outcomes, and overall organizational performance. As such, focusing on "people" processes is a highly regarded practice in healthcare. According to Vainieri et al. (2019), high-performing organizations see the value in their employees and put effort into enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction. This is achieved through increased training, a culture of listening, employee recognition, and leadership support. Also, when employees feel valued and supported, they become more aligned with the organization's vision and mission, which improves organizational performance. This is especially important in healthcare because employees often deal with life-and-death situations, and their actions impact the health outcomes of patients.
