SITUATION: IS THIS SOMETHING THAN CAN BE LEGISLATED?
* Problem / Concern: The public health laws within the New York community do not cater for paramedics. In this manner, most paramedics work under stressful conditions will little or no infrastructural and financial support. In particular, the paramedic’s services provided by emergency medical providers are not up to the medical requirements. The main reason is not the paramedics by the lack of government to provide for a safe working environment and tools for these groups. With this proposal, the community paramedics working within New York will be able to improve the health of individuals in a community setting (Brady, 2014). This will be realized by through establishing emergency medical technicians that will work under medical control. It is the intention of this bill that paramedics will be able to perform their services that are limited to their scope of education and training, practice and in new circumstances that the initial emergency medical care and transportation of the sick and injured persons.
* Proposal/idea: This bill will be able to authorize the practices of community paramedics in New York. The practice will be done in relation to emergency medical technicians with regard to prevention, evaluation and improvement of health conditions of patients within the scope of paramedics. The paramedics will also be provided with the required protection, training, scope of practice and compensation other that the ordinary initial emergency medical care and transportation.
