Standardization of care limits or prescribes procedures and constitutes the procedure of approving, delivering, as well as executing uniform practical criteria, provisions, processes, techniques, practices, or designs geared towards increasing safety, compatibility, interoperability, quality, as well as repeatability (Mannion & Exworthy, 2017). On the other hand, care customization constitutes a direct opposition to standardization. Customization refers to modifying standardized diagnosis and treatment to each patient’s social, cultural, and psychological dimensions, such as wishes and preferences (Ansmann & Pfaff, 2018). Ostensibly, customization and standardization offer sharply differing approaches to delivering and organizing patient care. It is increasingly challenging to explain the opposing and divergent trends between the two methods. Apart from the different definitions, the conflict between the divergent medical treatment and healthcare paradigms is anchored on the institutional logics perspective.
