Climate change as a global phenomenon is attracting a lot of debate and creating a division in thinking. Those who acknowledge the impacts of climate change are not short of detractors who either benefit or are oblivious to the changes. In the past 50 years, human activities have relied heavily on burning fossil fuels that have released sufficient quantities of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. Consequently, there is a lot of additional heat that is trapped in the lower atmosphere. It is estimated that the world has warmed by 0.85oC over the last 130 years, with each decade warmer than the preceding decade. The effects of climate change affect numerous aspects of human existence, such as its creeping impact on public health.
In divisive opinions, it is not clear what the general public stance is on climate change. However, its impact is undeniable, or maybe people are not attentive to notice. The rising number of nasal allergy patients is not something that can be ignored. At the moment, more than 50 million Americans are said to be living with nasal allergies, and half the number is suffering from seasonal pollen allergies. Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America's 2021 report named Scranton, Pennsylvania, as the number one state for nasal allergies. Factors that make Pennsylvania the allergy capital are higher than average; spring and fall pollen, allergy medicine use, and fewer board-certified allergists. Metropolitan cities follow the same trajectory mostly due to the addition of pollen and air pollution. The Environmental Protection Agency's 2020 report focuses on analyzing air quality and air pollutants in the United States. Climate change is the primary driver of the shifting phenological patterns such as longer freezing-free seasons.
