This assignment builds on the Risk Management Program Analysis – Part One assignment you completed in Topic 1 of this course.
PART ONE WAS: Case-Based In-Service Style Educational Program for Nurses in Risk Management of Nosocomial Infections
Assume that the sample risk management program you analyzed in Topic 1 was implemented and is now currently in use by your health care employer/organization. Further assume that your supervisor has asked you to create a high‐level summary brief of this new risk management program to share with a group of administrative personnel from a newly created community health organization in your state who has enlisted your organization's assistance in developing their own risk management policies and procedures.

Risk Management Analysis
Risks are inherent within all organizational operations regardless of the settings. Managing risks helps organizations to comply with the legal and ethical requirements of the health and safety regulations. Healthcare organizations are responsible for establishing a safe and healthy environment for the patients and community (Pascarella et al., 2021). They also ensure that they operate without putting the local community at risk of harm, injury, damage, or infection. This assignment aims to analyze how the organizations’ quality and improvement process contributes to the in-service educational Program for Nurses in Risk Management of Nosocomial Infections.
Role of the Joint Commission in the Evaluation of the Institution’s Quality Improvement and Risk Management Process
The Joint Commission (JC) is the MIPAA-approved accreditation body in the in-service education program for nurses in our organization. It provides performance improvement measures to ensure continuous improvement of the care quality and safety in healthcare organizations (Campbell & Leger, 2020). It evaluates healthcare organizations through observations, staff interviews, and data analysis to determine their compliance with the required regulations. The JC also certifies healthcare organizations and programs (Lyle-Edrosolo & Waxman, 2016). For that reason, it assesses the implemented in-service educational program to ensure that the program helps nurses manage risks associated with nosocomial infections.
Additionally, the JC issues reports that integrate strategies and measures whose aim is to monitor and track the performance of the quality measures (Campbell & Leger, 2020). Therefore, the JC plays a significant role in monitoring and tracking the performance of the implemented in-service educational program. Another function of JC is establishing methods that continuously review best practices that improve patient care. It partners with other health care professionals to identify the quality measures by creating performance standards that guide nurses to administer high-quality care through improved performance (Campbell & Leger, 2020). Together with the in-service educational program, these standards can enable nurses to prevent or reduce hospital-acquired infections because they will focus on patient safety and high-quality care.
Roles of Different Levels of Administrative Personnel
Human resource management (HRM) is one personnel that plays roles in healthcare ethics and establishes or sustains employer/employee-focused organizational risk management strategies and policies. The Human resource manager recruits employees in case of a shortage, assign them roles and ensures their needs are met (Card & Klein, 2016). By doing so, human resource managers promote employee satisfaction and retention, ensuring that the nurses focus on risk management strategies and policies. As risk managers, human resources also play a role in healthcare ethics. They identify the cause of risks and advice the employees about the preventive measures to take.
