Patient safety is highly valued in contemporary healthcare settings. With an increasing need for evidence-based and patient-centered care, nurses bore the greatest responsibility of ensuring healthcare delivery meets the tenets of quality and safety. However, the process of organizing resources and strategies to prevent errors and improve patient safety is challenging.
As a nurse, I am responsible for promoting patient safety at all levels, including championing strategies and policies that will enhance patient safety. I will play a critical role in ensuring patient safety through monitoring patients for clinical deterioration and detecting errors and near misses. Besides, I ought to understand the care processes and weaknesses that might be systemic.
