In Nutritional Health Alliance v. Food and Drug Administration, NHA, an association of distributors and manufacturers of dietary supplements that contain iron, filed a complaint against the FDA (Food and Drug Administration Authority) seeking a judgment of the court regarding the rules and regulations set by the Food and Drug Administration Authority. They believed that these rules and regulations were not valid and were forced to be in effect (Crawford). The basis of this claim was that the Food and Drug Administration Authority did not have legal rights to promulgate and enforce a poison prevention packaging regulation. On the other hand, the interest of the FDA was to urge manufacturers and distributors to pack items with thirty or more milligrams of iron per dosage separately in non-reusable slots.
