Summary
The patient under assessment is a seventeen-year-old female who was involved in a motorcycle accident. The accident caused the breaking of the right ribs, head injury, and dislocation of the right shoulder. A surgical operation was done on the patient's shoulder, and occupational rehabilitation therapy started. The patient has had no recorded allergies or reactions. However, she recently showed different symptoms, where she was coughing uncontrollably and vomiting. She was tired and had nausea, headache, and muscle weakness. She is single and lives in residence. She is currently studying pharmacy while working part-time at a grocery store. Recently, she has been tested for Influenza.
Current Medications
Considering the patient’s conditions and physical state, the current medications in the treatment plan may include analgesics and immunity boosters. Therapeutic strategies being implemented include educating and informing everyone in the hospital environment to perform hand hygiene, wear the necessary personal protective equipment (PPEs), clean and disinfect the environment and all equipment.
Physical Assessment
She is experiencing headaches, muscle pain and weakness, nausea, vomiting, coughing, and tiredness.
Functional Status
The patient needs assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) as she is unable to move due to the injury and the surgery that followed.
