Introduction
The Nursing Services Delivery Theory is one of the theoretical concepts that can be applied through its open systems to nursing and healthcare organizations to help most of the people to understand nursing operations quite profoundly. The theory links different aspects found in the healthcare and nursing settings to show the activities of nursing to have a systematic outlook. The system theory links and connects different nursing aspects such as nursing work, the nursing staff, the working healthcare environments, and outcomes of various nursing settings to show how all these diverse elements are systematized to deliver nursing services. The theory further informs managerial decisions on issues such as allocating the resources in healthcare organizations that nurses would use to provide adequate healthcare services to their patients. A department or a Unit in a healthcare organization
The department that I would like to discuss is the safety suite department. The safety suite unit is a vital healthcare unit that ensures that both the patients and the caregivers provide that they have adequate safety as they deliver healthcare services. The input of the healthcare system is ensuring that the medical personnel enhance the safety of the patients as well as improve their security to streamline the functioning of the safety unity in the healthcare departments. The output of the system would be promoting optimal care among the patients to ensure that the healthcare center reaches it functional goals and objectives, where targets of healthcare needs to aim at alleviating health problems and promoting healthy living for people to live happily. The cycle of events in the healthcare system showed that the safety measures applied were quite ineffectual as at times the patients or the caregivers never asked safety measures well in their functionalities. Staffing and ensuring that the staff members play their roles well is also a managerial mandate he needs to ensure that all the aspects of healthcare including safety are applied broadly (Meyer & O’Brien-Pallas, 2010). Some of the failures of enhancing the patients’ security and personal safety in healthcare gave some negative feedback and a poor reputation for the healthcare organization.
The Problem I identified
The problem I recognized is that there was some insufficiency of applying healthcare safety measures for the successful operations of the healthcare unit. Mr. Edward was mandated to monitor his safety and the safety of others in healthcare. He was alleged to be sleeping while he was supposed to working in his shift, which leads to the system breakdown in terms of medical safety.
