He reported being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes twenty years ago and hypertension fifteen years ago
Objective Data
BP 172/100mmg, irregular pulse rate of 123, and Respiratory rate of 20
He is currently on Linosnopril 20mg daily and metformin 1000mh daily
Her skin is warm and pale with a slight gray cast
Lungs are clear on auscultation
Hearth rhythm is irregular
Assessment
The patient is likely to be suffering from pulmonary embolism. The symptoms of pulmonary embolism are often nonspecific and include dyspnea, pleuritic chest pain. In more severe cases, it involves light-headedness, presyncope, syncope, or cardiorespiratory arrest. The most nonspecific signs of pulmonary include tachypnea and tachycardia. Carrying out diagnostic tests such as D-dimer and Computed tomography pulmonary angiography would aid in confirming pulmonary embolism.
