American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) has core statements, beliefs, and philosophies that underpin its existence. The AACN mission statement is anchored on the needs of patients and their families. Patients and families rely on nurses for expertise, knowledge, and skill during their most vulnerable times. Acute and critical care nurses depend on AACN for expert knowledge and the influence to fulfil their promise to patients and their families. AACN believes in excellence because nothing less is acceptable.
