Many factors can contribute to an organization’s success, but the key to success lies in an organization’s behavior. If the members and leaders possess and exhibit specific good behaviors and put values into action, the institution will function flawlessly. In education, teacher leadership is needed for a school’s improvement. Teacher leadership may not have a particular definition, but it is mainly about leading the classroom and contributing to the lives of the learners (Flood & Angelle, 2017). It is undeniable that behavior matters the most in all organizations’ success.
A successful leader has specific characteristics that can help him to lead. A leader must be filled with integrity, compassion, and wisdom. It all starts with integrity; this is the most important value that any person, not just a leader, should have. Everything will go smoothly if a leader has integrity, and it shows in his actions. A leader with integrity acts by the proper morals. His thoughts, words, and actions align with his value. As a result, he does things correctly. Additionally, a leader must also be filled with compassion. A leader must understand how to communicate with the members, particularly how they feel. In this way, the leader will comprehend their anguish and pain. Lastly, a leader must be filled with wisdom. Wisdom is needed in making right and just decisions. The leader is responsible for making decisions in a group; he must make sound judgments for everyone’s sake. Other characteristics may contribute to the success of a leader; however, what is essential is that he transforms his characteristics into actions (Supovitz & Comstock, 2021).
