PERSONAL REFLECTION PAPER IN PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
Introduction
Early childhood is a period in which a child undergoes rapid changes in terms of growth and development in this case the growth develops at a faster rate compared to other points in the human life. At this stage, children are also able to enhance their social skill, perceptions, self-esteem, and their perception of moral outlook and the world at large. Early childhood development education encourages healthy developments among children. The entire course has been a success although I was given an opportunity to research and assess how my understanding of physical development has evolved throughout the course. Even though there were few mistakes made throughout the course, the entire learning process was a success.
Throughout the entire course, I have learned that early childhood education was the right choice for me. While I was evaluating the career, some of the questions that I asked myself were if I really love working together with children and the answer was definitely yes. I have learned that working with children requires a lot of patience, sensitivity, and dedication (Cherry, 2018). Sometimes trying to keep up with the little children can be exhausting. Children are also very responsive when they are learning some of the actions and words that may be directed to them by the other people. This capacity is what enables human beings to benefit from knowledge that is transmitted culturally. I have also discovered that infants have the ability of responding to cues conveying communicative intentions of people like eye contacts and tunes and this is also referred to as natural pedagogy. As a teacher in early childhood education, I have learned that I should be creative and adaptive as well (Shanker, 2013).
Children usually looks for environmental stimulations so that they will be able to promote their intellectual developments. As a result, I was able to realize that emotional, social and physical development of children affects their overall developments directly. It also affects the kind of adults they will grow to become. Therefore parents are supposed to invest in their kids so that they will be able to maximize the wellbeing of their children. At the age of two years children will start to learn how they can build their gross and motor skills. During this stage toddlers also starts to develop both hand and eye coordination. Some of the activities that are encouraged during this stage are running, climb...
