The researcher applied a qualitative descriptive method of study. I believe that the qualitative research method was appropriate for the given subject matter, considering that the research tried to hone in on the modal shifts of leadership practices coming from K-12 principles during the COVID-19 pandemic. The researcher used interviews with experts and current K-12 public school principals, with the analysis of extant documentation reflecting the planning and communication of leaders over the adjustment to the pandemic.
I further believe that the qualitative method is appropriate to the study and its framework since it is a leadership model which is being looked into. Qualitative research relies on non-numerical data obtained through interviews, observation, focus-group discussion, questionnaires, and surveys. On the other hand, a quantitative method focuses on numerical data and the systemic measurement of variables to test different hypotheses.
