Today's roles and responsibilities of teachers are no longer limited to teaching academic subjects, basic life skills, and good manners to students. Teachers of today's time also serve as advocates, facilitators, mentors, and other roles that are all for the student’s welfare. Indeed, a teacher needs knowledge, skills, and disposition to be effective. However, they must develop all three qualities to ensure a holistic approach to teacher education because they need help to function independently. The teacher’s disposition is the most important of the three. Teacher dispositions are those that translate knowledge and skills into action. Teachers’ dispositions enable wise moves (Fonseca-Chacana, 2019). Hence, it is essential to consider the disposition to generate more activities that benefit students.
The Professional Dispositions of Learners are essential in the classroom. They are concerned with the values and ethics that influence how they treat students, families, colleagues, and communities. Teachers create an environment that promotes harmony and growth due to their disposition. Furthermore, dispositions allow students to learn in a welcoming, safe, and diverse environment. From experience, in a classroom activity, the teacher ensures that everyone can participate and has equal opportunities. The teacher also provided that those who required assistance were guided correctly throughout the activity.
Furthermore, teachers’ actions and practices are anchored to the Moral Code of Ethics for Educators by previous educational experiences. Teachers have five primary responsibilities, according to the MCEE. They must be accountable for their profession, professional competence, students, the school community, and ethical technology use (Model Code of Ethics for Educators, 2015). However, previous educational experiences have demonstrated teachers’ responsibility to the profession and students. From experience, teachers are committed to their careers since they adhere to the laws that govern their professional practice.
