Effective student learning requires both the student’s and the teacher’s efforts. The teacher is tasked with ensuring that the students can translate the skills learned into practice with ease. To actualize this, a teacher should conduct student assessments that should aid them in developing lesson plans and conducting direct instruction lessons (Pastore & Andrade, 2019). The Marzano elements should be used to develop the direct instruction lesson to increase their efficiency and effectiveness. The two forms of student assessment include summative assessment, which is done at the end of the course. On the other hand, formative assessment entails regular and constant student learning evaluation over time (Pastore & Andrade, 2019).
