Every individual is different from one another as no two people are the same. These differences can be found either in the form of physical, mental, or emotional state. Just like how teachers have different habits in teaching and how schools have different approaches in the curriculums, students also have their respective unique learning styles. This paper will discuss and compare various learning styles and present their influence on teaching and learning.
Learning Style and Strategies
Learning styles vary from an individual's affective, cognitive, and physiological traits, leading them to have their respective learning process. These situations and research provided a huge influence on the student's learning ability and the teacher's process and practice of teaching. Though this has been said, some people also perceived learning styles differently as some specify their definition with confusion. Nevertheless, learning styles do help understand a students' learning style for a teacher to determine an appropriate action to help the students (Li et al., 2016). VARK Questionnaire is one example of tools that helps a student to determine their learning style. According to Idrizi (2018), he elaborated that this tool divides people's learning styles into four categories that fall under the sensory-motor: Visual, Aural, Read/Write, and Kinesthetic, representing its acronym. They also elaborated that each category also has its respective learning strategies to help individuals who use that specific learning style.
In my case, after answering the VARK questionnaires, it showed that I am a learner with a multimodal learning style. Balasubramaniam & Indhu (2016) described multimodal as a learning style whose preference is combined with any four sensory learning styles. This implies that I can learn through visual representations, discussions, readings or writings, and physically doing the lesson. I can agree with this result as I have various learning styles depending on the topic I have to learn. While the learning strategies occupying this learning style also vary as it is the combination of learning strategies of the four learning styles. Coincidentally, these learning styles are also inlined with my current learning preferences where I either use visual, aural, read/write, or kinesthetic learning styles. Having a kinesthetic learning style as my highest out of the four represents that I usually prefer learning through actions and demonstrations, which relatively follows my current learning strategies. In that case, I could say that these results are related to my current learning styles and strategies.

In the study of Yazici (2017), he presented that learning styles have a significant but diverse level of influence on the students' level of academic performance. He also elaborated that their independent, cooperative, and dependent learning styles have a low positive level of relationship and significance towards the students' academic performance.
