Steward, D. (2004). The Master's Degree in the Modern Languages since 1966. Profession, 154-177.
In the article written the Steward (2004) entitled The Master’s Degree in Modern Languages since 1966, the authors discussed how the number of Master’s (MA) enrollment and conferment for MA English and MA Foreign Languages have changed throughout time. Notably, the authors found out that while there was a decrease in the total percentage of enrollees during the period, such a decrease was due to both internal and external circumstances such as stagflation, conflict, war, and even the changing social equilibrium. The author of this article believes that this is a credible source since the meta-analysis conducted utilized peer-reviewed journals and reputable articles. Finally, this would be a good source for my paper about ASL since it provides a context about how enrollment trends in language-related subjects are affected by both internal and external factors.
