The way leaders communicate determines the public’s perception of their leadership and organizational capabilities. This is the reason why leaders hire speech writers. Professional communication has to be based on extensive research, public mood, and other factors before dissemination (Normore et al., 2016). When a leader communicates in a way that shows a shallow understanding of the people’s problems, then the public is likely to view the leader as distant and lacking in understanding.
