Gender Role in Early Childhood Education.
Gender roles play a significant role in early childhood development. For a long time, the notion that girls like pink while boys love blue has dominated our lives. Further, we've been told in a school setting that girls like barbies and dolls while boys like trucks. The media, society, family, and environment influence gender roles. Further, children with gender notion specifics and behavioral norms are influenced by close friends, family structure, school settings, and natural play patterns. 
Further, Lev Vygotsky, a Soviet Union scientist, developed social development theories that are widely used today. Vygotsky's theory of social development holds that society plays a significant role in enhancing and modeling a child's behavior. He argues that children develop their behavior from interacting with friends and family and their behaviors. Also, he argues that children draw their character from individuals they admire and drive authority from (Mcleod, 2022). He further contends that interactions lead to the development of a zone of proximal development, which includes actions and behaviors they can work on to complete autonomously. Thus, the interactions and the environment within which a child grows affect their understanding of gender roles. 
Additionally, in a society associated with gender stereotypes, children adopt gender roles as they transition from childhood to adulthood. Different factors influence gender roles to the point that they deny certain functions as they are associated with a particular gender.
