However, as times have changed, so have family dynamics and societal challenges. Families may face trials that prohibit them from being involved in their child’s education, from classroom activities to school functions. Teachers can help alleviate some of these challenges by offering alternatives and solutions so that all families have the opportunity to be active participants in their child’s learning and well-being.

Effective communication can facilitate making relevant educational decisions while promoting optimal education and the development of students.

Financial Issues
Financial constraints are the significant barriers that might hinder effective communication and collaboration between teachers and family members. For instance, families from low socioeconomic backgrounds might find it hard to acquire the learning resources that students need in school, which might be a significant learning barrier (Kraft, 2017). Most schools have shifted to online learning in the current era of new technology forms. However, some parents might find it hard to purchase online learning materials, especially if they face financial constraints. Therefore, affected families might find it challenging to collaborate with teachers in enhancing student’s well-being.
One of the potential solutions to financial constraints would be to talk to the administration about offering bus or subway passes to the affected families. In such a case, it would be possible for them to visit schools and check on their children's progress. Alternatively, schools should offer opportunities of engaging that would not involve parents visiting schools. For instance, it would be imperative to ask the affected families if they would be comfortable with the classroom newsletter about their child’s progress.
Logistical Issues
Notably, transportation constraints might hinder effective collaboration between teachers and families.
