From Elizabeth Loftus, I am learning several aspects of memory, especially the fact that we are all prone to making things up. Our memories are all vulnerable and malleable to contamination or being supplemented. This has changed my ideas regarding memory, because earlier when I would try to remember something, it felt like an attempt to recollect some old experiences. Nowadays it feels like I could be constructing something new, because as you try to remember, one might take bits and pieces of experience from different places and times different from the situation one is trying to remember. As a result, the memory ends up being false because an individual might end up telling a story they heard instead of the happenings from the real situation.
