In this module we�studied how attachment has lifelong effects on many aspects of human functioning including social and emotional development, self-regulation and resilience. Select one area of functioning that is meaningful to you (emotional regulation, social competence, thinking, and psychobiology, etc.)�and elaborate on it for this informal assignment.
You may be objective in this assignment OR subjective in the sense of using observations of others you know (objective) or of yourself (subjective). Observation of yourself means reflective consideration of your experiences, sort of like memoir writing. This means you'd be writing about your experiences so that others would understand (some info about me that may help in writing this essay ( my experience) i am a mother of 2 little boys 4 years and 7 years , i am so much attached to my mother and to my kids , my father always argue with my mom when i was a little and he was always outside not spending much time with me and my siblings ( that's what i wrote to the prof at the beginning of the year ) ) . You would NOT be writing a diary or a confessional essay. Observations of others should not include any identifying information. Stick to objective observation and analysis.

Introduction
Attachment is an emotional link that develops between a child and a caregiver and commence early in peoples life. Moreover, it is believed to physically connect people over time. Attachment is an essential human need for a close and warm relationship between infants and their caregivers. However, attachment has lasting effects on several aspects of human functioning, such as social competence, which is the ability of people to relate positively and get along well with others (Gray, 2011).
Attachment is a basic human necessity that plays a significant role in influencing people social competence. Responsive and contingent parenting is argued to produce securely attached children who demonstrate more inquisitiveness, self-reliance, and independence. Securely attached children are also likely to become more resilient and competent adults. On the other hand, children who do not experience a secure attachment with their caregivers are likely to have trouble getting along with others, as well as being incapable of forming a sense of confidence or trust with others (Vauras & Junttila, 2015).
John Bowlby, the pioneer of attachment theory notes that people early attachment patterns are likely to go on in the course of their life and these early experiences have a greater influence on their later life. He believed that early experiences with attachment assisted in establishing internal working models of the person and others that are moderately stable over time after they are formed. These working models that comprise of feelings, behavioural strategies, and expectation of the self, others, and the world has significant influence on person social competence.
