One of the software I would recommend for use in the classroom is Kahoot. Kahoot is one of the education software that has revolutionized the way teaching and instruction are carried out. The platform has features that encourage modern learning methods as opposed to the traditional teacher instruction method. For instance, the platform allows the instructors to create games or trivial quizzes and share them with the learners. The app also uses high-quality graphics and pictures to help learners grasp the content being taught (Wang & Tahir, 2020). The second software that I would recommend is Google Classroom. This app has a very user-friendly interface, making it easy for learners and instructors to use. The app also enables instructors to share material with learners as well as share assignments. This app also supports remote learning as users can access the course material from any geographical location provided, they have a smart device and internet connection. Considering the great features of the two platforms (Kahoot and Google Classroom), it is worth recommending their use in the classroom.
The following is a description of ELA activity ideas that can be implemented using each technological tool identified above. For Kahoot, a great way to achieve this goal is to implement a vocabulary quiz. When learners are reading a story, the instructor could use the platform to make a quiz that tests the vocabulary knowledge of the learners. The teacher can use tactics such as using graphics and pictures to make the process more enjoyable.
