Annual Student Accommodations Review for Instructional Intervention

Essay Instructions:

Assessment Description
The reality of teaching is that every new semester brings new challenges and rewards. Individualized Education Plans and 504 plans are part of most classroom environments and can pose challenges to instructional and assessment planning. Understanding your students will help you to better meet their needs.
At least annually, you will meet with the IEP team or support staff and parents to review these plans and share student progress. To prepare for these meetings, teachers often write a brief description of strategies, resources, and accommodations used in the classroom to support the student’s learning goals in order to improve achievement.
Examine the assessment data in the "Class Roster" and write a 100-150 word description for each student including strategies, possible resources, and accommodations to help improve student achievement. In addition, include a 100-150 word summary describing how you would interpret the assessment data for these students to inform and improve instruction.
Support your findings with a minimum of three scholarly resources.

Annual Student Accommodations Summary
Clarissa Jones
The student will be allowed extra time to complete any assigned work. The move will be critical in ensuring that Clarissa can complete all the assigned work. Since she struggles with focusing for a long period, her assignments will be broken into smaller segments, with a specific deadline attached to each part. The work period will be shortened to ensure that she can handle it (Khalil, ALshareef & ALshumrani, 2019). The instructor will collaborate with the learner in setting short-term goals. These include taking the activities of the day and breaking them down into small manageable goals that the student can work to achieve. Breaks will be frequent so that the learner can feel a sense of control. Where students have a sense of control, they feel respected which enables them to finish assignments on time (Martin & Bolliger, 2018). Emotional support will be needed to ensure Clarissa can cope with the frustration and embarrassment. When learners have difficulties performing tasks that are natural to others in the classroom, they may develop low self-esteem.
Grayson Jones
The tutor will pair all the written instructions with oral instructions. The learner struggles with written expressions but is okay with verbal ones. Enhancing the written instructions with verbal ones will make it easier for the learner to understand the instructions (Novianti, Syihabuddin & Rochyadi, 2019). The teacher will introduce audiobooks as an alternative to reading. Since the child has a problem in writing, typing on a computer or tablet would be critical. The use of apps that make learning fun like turning decoding into a game will help Grayson to embrace writing.
Since the learner is twice-exceptional, the program will be dually differentiated to ensure that it nurtures the gifts and talents, while ensuring that the student receives appropriate instruction. A multisensory approach will assist in providing the learner with a variety of stimuli and multiple sensory modes. Additionally, when Grayson makes any progress, the teacher should acknowledge the effort and celebrate the hard work. The school psychology will also offer assistance in the case Grayson needs it.
William Hughes
The teacher will allow William extra time to take notes and copy materials. The tutor will provide enough time for him to do written tasks. For mathematics problems, a graph paper will be provided. The material will assist the learner in lining up the math problems. Since William will have problems forming letters in the right spaces, a paper with raised lines would be needed. Such a paper will guide the student in learning how to form letters in the required space. The teacher will allow William to use a laptop or tablet for typing letters. An audio recorder will also be allowed to enable the students to record where he has difficulties in learning (Adebisi, Lima...
