Film composers are perhaps the most underappreciated aspect of any movie. The composer, not the actors or actresses, producers, or directors, is the one who ties the plot together. Every incredible film that can be conceived of has a fantastic score that puts the movie to a close. On numerous occasions, the identities of such composers slip between the crevices of the ordinary person's knowledge.
On September 12, 1957, Hans Zimmer was born in Frankfurt, Germany, and grew to become a famous film composer. He has had a profound influence on the industry and has composed several of the finest film music. In terms of his early childhood, Hans has stated that he grew passionate about music early, attempting to understand the piano at the age of three but wanting to stop only two weeks later (Ndebele, 2011). He chose to become a composer following his father's death when he was six years old. Zimmer formed a musical band with two of his friends after high school. Still, Hans became weary of it despite its popularity and quit as he was unhappy with only one kind of songwriting and desired more. Upon coming to England in 1971, he began composing film music for Stanley Myers, with whom he collaborated on Moonlighting and The Castaway. His career took off once he was contracted to do the movie soundtrack for Rain Man in 1988, for which Hans got his first Academy Award nomination, and his success soared upward from then. After being shortlisted for and receiving a slew of prizes, such as the Grammy Award for Driving Miss Daisy in 1989, he created one of the most famous film soundtracks, for which he won both the Golden Globe and the Academy (Allers et al., 1994). This soundtrack was for the prominent Lion King.
Since then, Zimmer has had Ten Academy Awards and Fourteen Golden Globe nominations, winning one Golden Globe and an Academy Award for the outstanding soundtrack for The Lion King and a Golden Globe for exceptional music for Gladiator. When Zimmer's works grew in popularity, and he became one of the most well-known figures, he was up for more honors, including Academy Award nominations for The Preacher's Wife and As Good As It Gets (Ndebele, 2011). Hans has composed the scores for more than 140 films, notably 12 Years a Slave (2012), The Road to El Dorado (2000), Hidden Figures (2016), The Pirates of the Caribbean (2011), Angels and Demons (2009), Mission Impossible 2 (2000), and The Da Vinci Code (2006). Interstellar (2017), The Dark Knight Rises (2012), Dunkirk (2017), and The Dark Knight (2008), all of which he collaborated on with Christopher Nolan, are arguably the soundtracks of his most well-known films (2014). One of the best things about his movie soundtracks is how original they are without sounding like anything else he's produced previously. His versatility in soundtrack composition has rendered him among the finest in the trade and possibly one of the most significant producers of the contemporary age.
