Elements of Visual Style
The primary elements of Mise En Scène include production, composition, production design, lighting, and costuming. The minor elements include film texture and makeup and hair. The elements are combined during production of play in creating Mise En Scène, which basically refers to ‘visual theme’ (Bartolini & DeSilvey, 2020). They are also used in defining space. 
Composition
A primary element of visual theme is how a shot is framed, which can be planned at the storyboarding stage of a film. At this stage, the artist works together with the film director and the script writer to visually illustrate, draw, and also graphically design the storyboards of the difference scenes in a screenplay (Pauwels & Mannay, 2019). Therefore, composition helps in determining the compositions, framing, and camera movements during the pre-production phase before shooting is done. This influences space because it determines how movements are to be stages and the framing that is to be done. 
Production Design
This also plays a crucial role in filing because every film has visual features that are partly created through the setting that is captured during every shot. For instance, in such a film like Gladiator, the storyline cannot stand on the props, lighting, and costuming (Walker, 2020). Product design ensures that the film exists within a given period and space. This influences space because the scenery, art direction, and backdrops created through product design give a film its realism or sense and also three-dimensional quality. 
Lighting
Once the filming setting has been determined, locations have been locked, and production design has been constructed, then all this needs to be lit in such a manner that it elevates the intended Mise En Scène.
