Humans create meaning by interpreting situations, objects, and events based on their experience and knowledge. Every encounter we experience in life provides us with opportunities to interpret in ways that make sense. There are myriad sources of information that we consume in the current world that consequently influence our interpretation of the world around us. I think creating meaning can be problematic in the modern world because of the information problem. According to Potter (2016), the modern culture is saturated with media messages, right from the hundreds of hours in feature films released by Hollywood every year to the 300 hours of video uploaded to YouTube every minute.
