you will use the following scenario: Your company is rolling out a new technology platform or software program for global communications and operations in your organization. You are an upper-level manager who needs to send a communique out to mid-level managers who are to disseminate the information to their teams. You want to ensure that you communicate proper expectations to the managers for them to deliver to their team. You, as the upper-level manager, should model the behavior for the mid-level managers to follow.
You have two technology platform options from which to select.
Option 1: Meeting Management Software. This option gives you the opportunity to use any meetings software platform or software that your organization currently uses or has used in the past. Identify a platform or software technology that is being retired as well as the new technology that is being rolled out.
Option 2: If your technology is proprietary, or if you have no experience with communications and data management technology, pick two of the following communication platforms to research and compare: Skype, Zoom, Adobe Connect, WebEx. Identify which of the platforms is the currently used technology that is being retired and which is the new platform being rolled out.

I am an upper-level manager in a multinational company. Effective communication is vital in an organization since it facilitates smooth operations and productivity. Everyone gets the right information on time. My organization has been using Skype but wants to implement Zoom. Both are video conferencing tools that individuals use for video calls, audio calls, screen sharing, call recording, and instant messaging. However, Zoom is the latest to be released in the market and has more additional business features compared to Skype. Since virtual communication has become the norm of the day, Zoom should be implemented in my company to enhance effective communication among stakeholders from different locations.
Zoom is being rolled out in my company to promote communication among managers and other stakeholders. The primary benefits of this video conferencing tool include end-to-end encryption, facilitates private and real-time chats, call recording, screen sharing, high-quality video graphics, and provides advanced administrator control tools and user management. In particular, some companies use Zoom to recruit new employees, and it is among the best platforms to gather qualitative data (Oliffe et al., 2021). The only two challenges of implementing Zoom are slightly higher monthly subscription fees for large enterprises and limited cloud storage. However, customer support is available online, enabling users to get help any time the need arises.
The new technology will be rolled out on 20th September 2022. The best thing about Zoom is that it is similar in functionality to Skype. On that note, more time will not be spent on training employees on how to use it effectively.
Specifically, various steps must be adhered to disseminate the technology. Zoom should enhance public communication, which entails individuals communicating with others regardless of their geographical location (Chapter 11, 2021). First, a team comprising communication experts and employees should be formed to analyze whether the video conferencing tool will meet the needs of the organization. Indeed, it should oversee whether Zoom will counter the challenges posed by Skype. Second, a cost-benefit analysis should be done to see the funds that the firm is likely to use and if the investment is worthwhile. Third, Zoom should be installed in all the branches. Fourth, stakeholders should be trained on how to use all the features provided by Zoom. However, at this juncture, Skype should be used in parallel with Zoom until all employees are conversant with the new technology. Fifth, the organization should send an internal memo giving the deadline for using Skype so that all stakeholders can migrate to Zoom.
