Personal Leadership Model Name Institution Personal Leadership Model Effective leadership involves the engagement of both personal and professional behaviors. Of these, personal behaviors are important in ensuring that there is trust between the leaders and those below them. Besides, a leader with good personal behavior is capable of acting in a moral way by caring for other people. In this regard, it is important to develop values that will make it possible to achieve this good behavior that results into effective leadership. Some of these include the values of honesty, love, dedication, and serving humanity. I believe by adopting and upholding these values, I will be able to develop leadership behaviors that will impact positively to me, others, organizations and society at large. Honesty is a value that is developed at an individual level and includes the ability to tell and stand for the truth in whatever situation. Keeping in mind that honesty is necessary in earning the trust of others, I tend to uphold this value. Through honesty, am also able to respect my family, friends and workmates. Just like honesty, love is another value that I consider important for any leader. Being an interpersonal value, love enables me listen to others and help them out of uncertain situations. Moreover, love is necessary in developing friendship and earning the respect of other people (Daskal 2018). In this way, I believe that love is an important factor in ensuring success. Dedication is also another important value for any leader. Falling under the organizational level, dedication ensures total commitment on the part of the leader in accomplishing whatever he or she is entrusted with. I always collaborate with my team members and dedicate myself fully to projects, ensuring quality and that deadlines are met. On a societal level, serving the community is an important value for a leader. Following this, I am an active member of a non-profit organization that works for the welfare and betterment of the poor people. In addition, I give contributions to our local church and other organizations in support of the needy, for example, the organization in support of Hurricane Harvey victims.
