Our company is an education startup. The company is developing artificial programs that are aimed at helping children learn better depending on their learning abilities. The system will employ artificial intelligence technology to develop its product. The mission is to have a system that learns and understands children including those with learning disabilities and then adapts its teaching and testing method to address the needs of the learner. The startup is still prototyping and hence mostly the workforce is made up of a number of software developers who are trying to create a neural network and train it to identify children with learning disabilities and adapting on how to teach them.
At the moment, the team is focusing on creating an algorithm and train it to identify learning disabilities and the severity of those learning disabilities. In most cases, the machine is being fed a lot of data to refine the algorithm as the developers tweak the code to arrive at more accurate results and avoid biases. Though the algorithm to determine whether learners have a learning disability is under development, the data to train the algorithm has to be done concurrently. This process is chosen for one simple reason, there is no definitive approach of training the algorithm to produce the best results.
