L'OREAL COSMETICS Student's Name: Professor's Name: Course Title: Date: Introduction: The L'Oreal Group L'Oreal is an international beauty company that was incorporated in Paris, France. The group has a major interest of providing the best in cosmetic innovation to both women and men across the globe. The group does this while observing diversity and inclusion for all which is intended to help it in achieving its mission of providing beauty for all. Currently, L'Oreal Group has 32 international brands in 130 countries across the world. The success of L'Oreal Group has come about due to its unique innovation model as well as diversity aspects in its workforce, coverage, and research. For example, the company's three elements of innovation focus on the pillars of responsible innovation, an operational network open to the world, and research and innovation in critical figures. On the company's diversity aspects, L'Oreal focuses on expertise in skin and hair types across the globe, a world-wide approach to beauty, and intense support of multi-cultural innovations. This paper seeks to highlight important strategies that can be used to implement education and training within L'Oreal in order to effectively address opportunities as well as challenges arising from managing across different cultures. On the other hand, an ethnocentric company is one whose management views its way as the best way. Here, diversity is taken as negative to the point that the management thinks it will cause serious problems to the company (Thompson, 2004). However, there is a third type of organization (synergistic) where the management has a balanced approach between its way and that of its employees. A synergistic company can be affected negatively or positively depending on how the management takes diversity in the workplace. L'Oreal USA can be considered as a synergistic company due to its recent focus on corporate diversity innovation. It is an indication that the company has already taken the first steps in addressing both opportunities as well as challenges that may arise as a...
