Conflicts are inevitable in any workplace, despite an organized system, secondary to personal differences. Therefore, company leaders must know how to manage conflicts to prevent damaging the relationship between members. In this paper, we shall discuss the strategies to resolve conflicts based on the experiences or research of some authors.
Radford (2018) suggested three ways to resolve a conflict based on individual conflicts. First, conflict with co-workers can be resolved by demonstrating positive behavior. These situations boil emotions that require validation. When avoidable, do not impose personal ideations on the other person. Instead, understand the other person’s side and attempt to use diplomatic words and ethical decision-making. Moreover, refrain from fostering negativity through backstabbing or gossiping.
Second, conflicts with the supervisor can be fixed with respect and professionalism. The employee and supervisor have various tasks throughout the day that make them occupied. It is challenging to work with pressure for both. In the supervisors’ case, they might be perceived as insensitive, but in reality, they were not aware of their actions secondary to a hectic schedule. Therefore, it is best to see the limelight in the situation and humbly approach each other to resolve the conflict. The employee can ask the supervisor to meet privately and discuss the conflict (Radford, 2018).
Third, conflicts with the clients can be resolved through a thorough investigation of the latter’s expectations. In these circumstances, one must ask the client directly about the problems with the service or products. The former must analyze the poorly executed tasks, pressure levels, and the latter’s areas to address. Professionalism is central to this solution, and it must be maintained at all times (Radford, 2018).
